The Question Block Lamp by 8-Bit Lit…The only question is, “How many am I buying?”

     I’m sitting here watching Nick Wallenda cross the Grand Canyon on a steel cable without a safety net. All I can think about is that old TV commercial, “Where will you be when diarrhea strikes?”   Well, that and what’s shaking on Kickstarter?

     Being kinda new to Kickstarter I’ve generally stuck to the Tabletop Games and Comics categories when browsing projects. A comment by one of the creators for a project I’m backing led me to check out the Product Design category. Andddd I’m hooked. Within about 30 seconds, I stumbled upon the Question Block Lamp by 8-Bit Lit. Inspired by Super Mario, the lamp is LED lit, touch controlled and includes video game sound effects when it powers up. Does it get any cooler than this?

      My son’s bunk bed has an alcove-like space beneath it that he’s dubbed his “Man Cave.”  I’ve been looking for a light to put in there but have come up empty.  With a 20 foot power cord and mounting kit included, the Question Block Lamp is exactly what I needed.

     But wait.  I’ve also been wanting a reading lamp for the couch in my personal nerd cave. I haven’t got room for a floor lamp with a big footprint. So yeah, I backed the Question Block Lamp to the tune of two of them. One for Little Man’s cave and one for mine.
