Happy Anniversary To Me…

Where's my cake?

Where’s my cake?

Just happened to notice that today marks the one year anniversary of the launch of It Came From The Nerd Cave!   Time does fly when you’re having fun.   Big thanks to all seven of my readers. Anddddd a big “GO AWAY PLEASE” to all the freaking comment spammers. While I appreciate that you “find  my blog amazing and savor my informations*,” no, I’m not going to post a link to your website selling half-price Louis Vuitton bags.

So, where am I going with this?  That’s a question I often ask myself.  Fortunately, I actually have an answer.  You may or may not have noticed that I’ve tried to increase the posting frequency on here.   My plan from day one was to see if I had enough to say to make the whole thing worth doing.  While that’s obviously debatable, I’d like to think I’ve hit a nice rhythm in the last couple months.

Preparations to open my Etsy store are progressing at a pace that, while not Barry Allenesque, is at least discernible.  Still struggling with the whole “paralysis by analysis” thing a little, but what can you do?  I’m working on a couple of NerdCraft type projects that I hope to unleash on the world very soon.  I’ve had what I like to think are some pretty good ideas for which I hope my fellow nerds out there will be happy to pay me mad geepees.

Another goal is to reach out to some of the other guys out there in the nerd community (podcasters & fellow bloggers) and get my blog in front of more readers.  Maybe enough to convince CB2 to put an ad on here ,-)

Finally, I’m toying with the idea of doing a podcast.  We’ll see on that one.  Baby steps.

In the meantime, I’m devoting a couple evenings this week to a top to bottom Spring cleaning of the Nerd Cave. Holy crap does it get dusty in there!  Going to post some new pics this week to show the evolution of my cave.  Lots of cool stuff to show you.  I’ll give you a hint. Four words: “five foot inflatable alien.”    While I’m pretty good at finding places to put new stuff, I have to admit that things are getting pretty full in here.  Of course I still have a totally bare bathroom left to decorate.  And then there’s the hallway…
