I’d bet that every nerd out there has one or two “Holy Grail” items that he or she covets but the high price tag keeps the good ol’ “Buy It Now” button from being pushed. For me, one of those items has been the inflatable Led Zeppelin blimp you see hanging in my nerd cave above.

To bag or not to bag…THAT is the question.
OK, this one falls well into the category of “First World Problems.” Even so, I’ve got a minor dilemma I’ve been going back and forth on and thought I’d share it with you guys in a “thinking out loud” kinda way.

So, this post isn’t about a particularly nerdy topic but I thought the title was too good not to use. Since I’m here, maybe my situation can serve as a cautionary tale for you youngsters out there.

Then, last night I’m vegging out on the couch watching Face Off on SyFy and cruising Kickstarter…because a 21st Century Nerd must multi-task…when, BAM! I come across The Scary Godmother Doll by Jill Thompson.
Papa’s Got a Brand New Hobby–Collecting Playing Cards on Kickstarter
So, I’m probably not setting off any alarms at the NSA by admitting that I like to collect stuff. I’m not saying I set out to expand my collecting horizons, but let’s face it, I’m not exactly a tough sell.
Recently, while cruising Kickstarter, I came across the Federal 52 (Part 2) playing card deck by Jackson Robinson (an example from the deck is pictured above). I think my jaw literally hung open while I perused the beautiful artwork showcased on the project page.
